In 2004 we said ... This is the second Clapham Festival which will
be held every year in the nine days covering
the two weekends after mid summers day.

Links to maps have been included in the details of most of the
events to make them easier for you to get to.

Saturday 3 July

Heathbrook School Summer Fair Midday till 4pm St Rule Street (off the Wandsworth Road). The theme this year is 'Under Water World'. There are many events - talent contest, fishy fancy dress for under 8s, penalty shoot-out and all the usual stalls, bouncy castles, games etc (Organised by Heathbrook Primary School)

Clapham North Arts Centre Open Day - art open studios and free live music in the courtyard at 1pm and 4pm (26-32 Voltaire Road, SW4 6DH) - Organised by Clapham North Arts Centre 020 7627 4611.

Clapham Park Festival Big event in Agnes Reilly Gardens (corner of Poynders Road and Weir Road) SW4 organised by Clapham Park New Deal for Communities - music and other events . 12 noon - 5.30. Music from local DJs. Draft programme (subject to change) includes: Compere Richard Blackwood; African drumming and dance, Capoeira demonstration , poetry, Festival steel band and carnival dance, Gospel and/or local school Choir , Creative Arts Marquee , Children’s Fun/circus Marquee, Global Food/Multicultural Food Fair/ Marquee , Sports features, Stalls/Information stands and other activities. Calligraphy for Families and Face Painting for Kids Clapham Library, SW4 0QW from 2 – 4pm. Paul Antonio will be holding a free workshop for 9 – 14 year olds and their parents or carers. He is an experienced professional artist whose career has included many calligraphy workshops and work in the area of heraldry. Unless you already have your own coat of arms, this promises to be interesting…

In the junior library, our own Eve Levic will be applying liberal amounts of face paint to those younger people who haven’t the patience for calligraphy, or just want to look like jungle animals! Places are limited, so please ensure you obtain a ticket from the enquiry desk in advance. Organised by Clapham Library.

Horticultural event - Glorious Gardens Lambeth College, Horticultural Centre, Clapham Common Southside, SW4 9BL. Plants for sale and horticultural questions answered. Organised by Lambeth College 020 7501 5048.

The Common Fayre at Holy Trinity Church SW4 0QZ. London’s largest church Fayre at Holy Trinity church Clapham Common. Attractions include Punch and Judy shows, tombola, side stalls, bouncy castles, delicious refreshments, raffle and great musical entertainment.

The Fayre starts at 11.00am and will continue to late afternoon.

Proceeds to the Nehemiah project which provides rehabilitation, safe accommodation and training to addicts, as well as to the Church itself.

Studio Voltaire annual Open Studios Event During the weekend, Studio Voltaire will be opening their workspaces 1-6pm to the public, providing an opportunity to meet the artists and see them working.

The official festival is organised by the Clapham Community Partnership in association with the Clapham Park New Deal for Communities. It incorporates the Abbeville Fete and is supported by Clapham Business Partnership, and the Clapham and Stockwell Town Centre office of Lambeth Council.
